Cashmere fabric is a luxury textile material produced with cashmere wool obtained from the underhair of cashmere goats. Cashmere goats are generally raised in cold climates in the Himalayas and Central Asia. The fine and soft hair on the underside of these goats constitutes the main source of cashmere wool.
The characteristics of cashmere fabrics may be:
Softness: Cashmere fabrics have a finer and softer texture than other types of wool. This feature contributes to making clothing or other products feel gentle and comfortable on the skin.
Thermal Insulation: Cashmere naturally provides good thermal insulation. Its fine fibers allow the fabric to respond effectively to temperature changes. Therefore, cashmere clothing is generally preferred in cold weather conditions.
Lightness: Cashmere fabrics are generally lightweight and also have a high degree of heat retention. This ensures that the clothing items are lightweight while also having warm-keeping properties.
Durability: Quality cashmere fabrics can last a long time under proper care and use conditions. However, because cashmere wool is a natural fiber, it may be more delicate than other types of wool.
Luxury and Elegance: Cashmere fabrics generally have a luxurious and elegant appearance, so they are often used in clothing and accessories with fine shawls, scarves, foulards and handkerchiefs.
Cashmere fabrics are often used in sweaters, shawls, scarves, coats, scarves and other cold-weather luxury clothing items. These fabrics are generally more costly because they go through a special manufacturing process. Quality cashmere products offer durability, softness and a luxurious wearing experience.
