Modal fabric is a textile material using modal, an artificial fiber obtained from cellulose. Modal is a type of rayon fiber usually produced from beech tree. This fiber is considered a type of viscose, but the production process for modal fiber is generally considered more environmentally friendly.

Modal is generally used in shawls, scarves, scarves, handkerchiefs, underwear, pajamas, t-shirts, dresses and other light clothing products. It can also be preferred in home textile products and bedding.
In terms of care, modal fabrics generally require gentle washing and releasing. Washing and drying at low temperature can help the fabric last longer.
